To be clear, I only went back to Kanux 4.3.3 (stretch) just to look for EDID information. Finding none I installed Bookworm 2024-03-15 which is what I am now on. I do not have a "vc" folder under "opt" nor do I have "tvservice".
But I have a new problem, my son saw your "edid-decode" post and decided to help, but he preferred his desktop so he SSH to mine, he then started to use ChatGtp and was able to create the EDID info on my system. We updated the "config.txt" and Restarted the system. I looked at the "dmesg" and the EDID from the VC4-DRM was ALL Zero's. So we backed the changes out of "config.txt" Restarted again, and EDID was back to Checksum Error again. But then I noticed there was only 29 seconds of dmesg data and every time I tried dmesg I got exactly the same data, the time values were identical. I tried the -c and -C options and got the error message "clear kernel buffer failed: Operation not permitted". I tried sudo su and still got the error. I Shutdown and Rebooted a dozen times but still get the same 29 seconds of dmesg data. Something definitely got messed up during the SSH connection and unless you come up with something I'm going to re-write the SD again.
