Hello, I have three Raspberry Pi’s operating at one time on my network. I have one as a server and the other two are displays for family information. I recently added the second and used the pi installer for windows. It is a 4 and I installed the most recent software, which appears to now be Debian. I tried to replicate my code to have chromium start at start up on my local host page like my other display, but I can’t seem to get it to work. I first made an executable in the pi home folder and added it to auto start. No joy. Then I decided to try and just open chromium right from the auto start to the site, rather than the executable. That didn’t work. Then I dropped the site and just tried to open chromium itself and that didn’t work. I then tried to have it open Firefox on startup and that didn’t work either. I did try to open chromium via the terminal and it spit out a profile conflict, but I got that cleared. Still nothing.
I am just wondering if I’m barking up the wrong tree here and I should be doing something different due to the Raspbian vs. Debian difference or if anyone can point me in the right direction on a tutorial or something. It’s just odd that it works just fine on one and won’t open at all on another. I did all the same rights and what not to the executable and then just completely bypassed it and try to just open the program.
I tried @chromium-browser (website, —full-screen stuff)
Then just @chromium-browser
Then just @firefox-esr
I tried http and then https. I tried leaving that out and just having the IP.
I’ve also noticed that both chromium and Firefox seem to be delayed to open. I had an issue with delay for my keyboard/mouse, but I switched to VGA input on my TV display and that is fixed.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Hope you all have a good weekend.
