Well I read the paragraph titled Wayland and I now know that Wayfire is the compositor for Wayland. so I did the following:
pi@raspberrypi4:~ $ sudo apt list | grep wayfire

WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in scripts.

wayfire-dbgsym/stable 0.7.5-1~bpo11+1~rpt35 arm64
wayfire-dbgsym/stable 0.7.5-1~bpo11+1~rpt35 armhf
wayfire-dev/stable 0.7.5-1~bpo11+1~rpt35 arm64
wayfire-dev/stable 0.7.5-1~bpo11+1~rpt35 armhf
wayfire/stable,now 0.7.5-1~bpo11+1~rpt35 arm64 [installed,automatic]
wayfire/stable 0.7.5-1~bpo11+1~rpt35 armhf
so this shows that Wayfire is version 0.7.5-1 and it is installed on my PI4

next I did
pi@raspberrypi4:~ $ sudo ps -ef | grep wayfire
lightdm 1480 1399 0 15:39 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/wayfire -c /usr/share/greeter.ini
pi 10665 2233 0 16:29 pts/0 00:00:00 grep --color=auto wayfire
and it shows that it is running.

Seeing as I am still no closer to resolving this on my old pi4 SD card and I have broken my PLEX server on both SD cards I am going to give up, redo the PI-OS on one of the SD Cards and start all over. with installing PLEX, Samba, and my shell scripts.

Once again thanks for all your help.
