Is this a power issue?
Possibly, possibly not. In the words of Number Two "We want information":
- Did you mean Raspberry Pi OS? Raspbian is not the same thing.
- What are you using to power your Pi
- What else do you have connected to it?
- What's the output from
Code:
cat /etc/os-release
- Does the drive show in the output from
Code:
lsusb
- Does it show in the output from
Code:
lsblk
- Are there any drive or USB related errors in the output of
Code:
dmesg
- Has the drive been formatted and if so with which filesystem?
- Is your Pi booting to the desktop or to the command line? With or without automatic login?
- How much power does the drive need?
FYI, the maximum total current available for USB devices connected to a 4B is 1.2A/6W and that assume you have a good quality 3A PSU.
