Thanks guys
Have to say I was initially disappointed I couldn't boot from the dual . but good to see somebody has patched it.
So the question then is mirrored zfs .. Never used zfs. I'm old .. meaning I learn on mdm. yeah mirroring the boot partition was always just a way to keep them in sync.
So the way I read it is I set the pi5 to boot nvme first, if that fail it will fall back to SD card
on a dual system I can set them up the same - fat /boot and then a LVM ... do i really need lvm - probably just a root and a swap partition. use mdm to sync the partitions
if nvme 1 fails then it will try nvme2
Now how do I know which version of the boot load and how do I get to that version that i need
thanks for the help
