While it’s easier to install than WSL, it’s a “foreign” environment (compared to WSL and, where I run Debian Bookworm). I regularly use SSH keys, and they are MUCH easier to keep in sync across systems when using WSL than having to remember how to deal with strange Windows stuff.
Even easier, Windows has openssh by default for W10 and W11, just use ssh from the command line like you would with linux.
You might have to switch the client and/or server on in start - > settings -> system -> optional features
If not updated you may need to add optional feature on the same page.
And, to be clear, I’m not a Windows hater. I run W11 on a couple of systems (both have WSL). I’m just a strong believer in “use the right tool for the job”
