There is an export you can use to fake 3.3 which does work, but I found it a bit slow, so probably not working very well. And I cannot remember what the flag was.

I forgot I had made a shell script to start blender, worth trying under Wayland, I had other issues that needed X11.

"MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.3 blender"
