Camera board • Re: Red Hue When Using IR Filter with V3 NOIR

Can you maybe say a bit more about your application? I think I'm understanding that you have a v3 camera with no IR filter. Instead you have your own IR filter which you can open or close yourself over the v3 camera module, so that you can take pictures either with your IR filter in place, or without it (in which case you may turn on some IR illumination). Have I got that right?

Judging by the alsc calibration pictures you posted, the colour shading associated with this filter appears to be very strong. So I guess you're saying that, once calibrated for this strong colour shading effect, it all goes horribly wrong again when you remote the IR filter. I'm thinking that, given the strength of the effect, this doesn't seem so surprising.

A few thoughts/questions:

* It sounds a bit like you might need to have two different tuning files, one with the IR filter and one without?
* Though tuning colours once you remove the IR filter and use custom IR lights sounds like it may be difficult, or even impossible.
* Obviously colour pictures are reasonable when there's an IR filter in place, so tuning for that case seems like the right thing to do.
* But when there's no IR filter, what kind of colours are you expecting? Or do you really want black & white images?
