More disks depend how much disk space you want/need. If you are in the market for more than 4TB, traditional large hard disks are preferred and you will need disk cases and external power to run that. If you are after a big 24x7 high available NAS, take a look at Synology e.g. Cost of disks make up a large portion of the total expenses.
