I think the reason this heating is seldom reported comes from there being two types of Pi owners:You can not touch with your thumbs on cooler when rpi is off. It was too hot. This was too much.So does this mean that, without POWER_OFF_ON_HALT=1, doing a shutdown but not pulling the plug, it keeps drawing so much current that any Active Cooler will become too hot to touch ?
Great news! I think this solution needs to be kept somewhere for further reference.
If so, as well as this solution being kept, I think there should be a more explicit warning of that behaviour.
I was well aware that a Pi after shutdown will usually draw some current, but I never expected it to be so much that it keeps an Active Cooler too hot to touch.
- Those who never turn them off.
- Those who never plug them in.
