Thank you for your response. The model I’m using is a Pi4, which was mentioned in the subject. However, from my understanding, a basic USB HAT for the Pi4 should also work with the Pi5.
To clarify further: I’ve been trying to find a commercially available HAT, HAT-like daughterboard, or module that can be externally powered -similar to how a powered hub works- without the need for additional cables.
Here’s an example of the type of a connector I am looking into utilizing “without cables”, where the alternative is a an FFC USB Cable which does add little to do the width of the board:
I understand that this connector wouldn't comply with the HAT form factor, which is why I’m looking for a HAT-like solution that provides external power to a USB device while keeping the data lines isolated from the power supply. Thank you in advance in case you know of a solution.
