Thanks for a detailed explanation of these components. I was going to mention that the problem with the schottys used on these boards is the lack of current handling capacity but you go into it in much better detail.
These cheap knock-off boards are made down to a price and some technically poor choices are made to do that. They are not just cheaper clones. Even the ones using the logo and original layout are not using equivalent components. Sadly Chinese vendors are rarely up front about what they are selling
On the bright side some of the mods are nice, as I noted above.
