Thanks for info.There is no legal requirement to use Raspberry Pi SD cards or SSDs. Use whatever you are comfortable with. We have however put these devices through very vigorous test procedures to make sure they work well in the Pi range of products.From my POV the official cards are too expensive as well when comparing to other commodities. Just wanted you to be warned...

I'm contemplating to use Crucial P3 Plus 1TB PCIe 4.0 3D NAND NVMe M.2 SSD. Its much economical when you calculate cost per GB.
I was thinking about compatibility between NVMe M.2 SSD and Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5.
