Revision: 000eft5406 is failing on this platform for a long time. It's commented out as disable_touchscreen=1, sorry about omitting explicit mention - it's on the logs! Otherwise, it produces errors similar to the ones in parallel thread, and its presence doesn't fix the backlight anyways.
If backlight driver is from the mainstream kernel, I'd guess the fix will unlikely to materialise any time soon. Are there any work arounds possible? Switching between graphical and multi-user targets works for me most of the time, but kernel and glibc updates do require a reboot.
Something is definitely out there, but the driver is expecting it in a different place.
