foomI suspect the main point of running Ubuntu is to toss those improvements. Another reason might be already having Ubuntu installed on a moof of other machines and wanting more consistency across platforms. While Ubuntu MATE may not boot, MATE installed via tasksel works just fine on the Pi 5. Not quite sure why you would want to toss the RPL improvements and run Ubuntu.Sorry But No! Ubuntu Mate does not Boot! Equally The Manjaro for rpi does not boot! you only get to the bootloader menu which has a message that says that the OS is not compatible and that i should update the Os. I have since 1st post found that this relates to the shift from X11 to Wayland. so i guess that ill just have to wait and see what happens with the os's
For example Ubuntu is easily installed on ARM instances in the cloud but Raspberry Pi OS not.
