make a simple test: use another uSD card (should be in your tool-box when dealing with RPi anyhow, there are around 10 in mine so I can easily checkout things) and run@andrum99
Thanks for the clarification. So the apt package lags behind whats released on Github. That makes sense with what I am seeing.

If you're still on the old EEPROM after reboot run

sudo raspi-update next
If that solves your problem with the WD drive get back to your 'old' uSD and wait for the packages to show up in apt.
