You mean, like this?I am looking for a camera sensor that can reliably see the stars, preferably even from the city, real time; only problem is i do not know the first thing about camera sensors, and google is not a lot of help for this specific topic. If anyone could recommend me a sensor, or just tell me what parameters i should pay attention to, or even show me to another, more relevant forum, i would be forever grateful!
A little more about the project: It is not for astrophotography, or any kind of photography for that matter. I am trying to build a device that can find out its orientation precisely. Using only accelerometers and compass sensors is a no go, cos they are not accurate enough. However, if the device can see the night sky, and can see at least some stars on it (it doesn't have to see them well, just well enough) i think i can hack together some code that would be able to find out the orientation of the thing. For this, it doesn't matter if everything else but the couple of visible stars is a blurry, overexposed mess.
Thank you all very much!
