Better try it and see.It is a downhill course (with an elevator to get back up) that would lap with 20 or so cars going at the same time, I have found NFC tags but unsure if it would work...Is the racetrack actually two oval circuits next to each other, and only one car is on one of the tracks at any give time?
You could also put AR tags on each car and track them with a camera.
