OP "How can I set a resolution that is not in the list on CM4?"
as usual your input is nasty ad hominem irrelevant and with uncorrected typos.
highjacked? eh?
(*hijacked actually correct spelling - to take control of or use something that does not belong to you for your own advantage..)
OS is irrelevant here, while the OS I am dealing with on RF are both linux based...selinux and recalbox - a hack of debian 64..
I got the DPI working now fine but the OS doesn't boot on the exact same CM4 that plugs into a nano-B board and DOES boot.
The OP question then is highly relevant.
Another fact,-RF has a 4h battery.
Rpi4 and 5 don't.
The CM4 is a "mobile solution" - ie. you can swop it from one board to another.
1 battery powered, another USB-C powered and the official I/O board anything from 9-28V.
Get it?
