you said: "when I open the excel I can see the date in columns are changed to have both date and time"

Excel stores date and time as a number. the whole part of the number is the number of days since jan 01, 1900. The fractional part is the time of day (fraction of a 24 hour clock - noon is day +0.5). The default format for a date includes time.

when you select "format" for the cell, you are setting how the data is displayed. Change the format to be what you want for that column.
(date only). The time will still be stored, but you won't see it.
