In the last week, I have found that if I turn my monitor off then on again, sound on raspberry Pi5 stops working, and even the sound icon is missing from the taskbar. Rebooting seems to fix the issue until I turn the monitor off again.
This is a brand new install of latest Raspberry Pi OS on a 1TB Crucial P3 NVME SSD inside of an Argon40 Neo v5 NVME case, using the official RPi5 power supply, with nothing overclocked. I did enter dtparam=pciex1_gen=2 in /boot/firmware/config.txt (although the drive worked fine without that setting). I am fully updated and used raspi-config > Advanced Options > Bootloader Version > Use latest... to update bootloader.
Not sure if this is an issue with the case, the NVME SSD, a setting, or a recent update not working well with my Pi5.
Any ideas?
EDIT: monitor is a ViewSonic VA2447-MH
