Well it specifically states that you should check the journal. Have you tried looking there?

Code:

journalctl -xe
and

Code:

journalctl -xeu
and

Code:

man journalctl
You can also specify a service in journalctl:

Code:

journalctl -xe [service]journalctl -xeu [service]
dmesg isn't a bad place to look either:

Code:

dmesg
and

Code:

man dmesg
grep is particularly helpful for dmesg.
