Back up your data first. While "update in place" has been done for prior major releases (though not recommended), the transition to Bookworm is a lot bigger and more complex. This is an "on your own head be it" situation. Don't come complaining here if it fails and you lose data you didn't back up.OK, done a bit more research and it SEEMS to be possible to upgrade my Pis "in place" withiut having to do a reinstall/reconsigure of everything
tbh, this is how I'd hope it would be. As a LONG TIME IT guy, I've NEVER bought into the "you have to install fresh to upgrade OS releases" idea
