Advanced users • Re: rsync backups may create inconsistent backups with binNMU packages

Frankly I'm shocked the way binNMU packages are handled when they are updated. rsync is a common tool to create backups and fails to handle binNMU packages correctly

I also can't imagine not updating the time stamps when a file is updated. Could that really be what happens? I wonder why anyone would do that.
