I would like a Pi 400 with a TKL keyboard, one with better key movement for frequent typing. I looked at the interface from the 400 board to the keyboard and do not understand the details of the Pi 400 interface from the board to the keyboard, other than it being some sort of flat cable. Can that interface to other keyboards?
Looking at one nice wired USB keyboard, the keyboard controller and USB interface appear to be one chip which would block a direct interface.
An alternative might be some sort of flat USB 2 cable soldered between the two as a way to keep the height to the minimum.
When a Pi 500 arrives, I hope there is an uptake by a keyboard manufacturer to combine the 500 board with a professional keyboard.
Has anyone connected a Pi 400 board into a keyboard without dramatically increasing the keyboard height?
