From what I can tell there's as much confusion about the difference between a computer and a mobile phone among IT professionals as the general population.
One question I found interesting was, provided all the old software were freely available, would emulating the original IBM-PC using sub-dollar hardware be more useful to many people than a Linux programming environment?
I guess the idea is that a huge historical library of software allows some pretty practical stuff to be done with an emulated 8088 processor and there are parts of the world (maybe here soon) where 50 cents is the viable price point.
