My assumption is that more and more DSI displays will emerge (i.e. Adafruit seems to be working on some as they have commited some DSI driver code), either native ones or such using a bridge chip.
that's because the pixel shape is rectangular and square.
Why do you need to hardcode the display type into your image? Stops people - like me i.e. - from using them.
