No it does not limit the options. Almost all use cases will work just fine with a 3A non USB-PD supply, like said the readily available 4B supply. Further more, the Pi 5 will work perfectly under all use cases with 5V at 5A supplied without a successful USB-PD negotiation (like when you are supplying it via the appropriate GPIO pins). To achieve full functionality under that supply configuration you need to set 1 configuration flag.But I also see a lot of people are unhappy with that solution, because it limits the options on third party off the shelf power supplies.Extraordinarily unlikely. It's way off the main uses for Pis and the RPT doesn't appear to be interested in making things for niche markets.Are there plans to make an official Pi-Powerbank for the Pi 5? It really seems that there will be a demand.
The only folks that are unhappy are the ones that cannot read or the ones that have other USB-PD supplies that do not offer the 5V/5A mode and think RPL should have accommodated higher voltage modes.
